Looking for photographers in Rarotonga and Aitutaki for a wedding, family holiday, proposal or couples shoot? This guide covers nine businesses, with five detailed profiles, published package examples, contact details and Google review information.

Checked 30 October 2026. Ratings, review counts, prices and availability can change. This is an editorial shortlist based on services, portfolio information and island coverage, rather than a ranking by review score. Our review summaries paraphrase a sample of visible comments without identifying customers.

Compare photographers, prices and Google reviews

The package examples below are starting points for comparing coverage. A short portrait session and a two-hour wedding package are different products, and image counts vary. Malia explicitly quotes NZD; confirm the currency, tax and travel costs for every other quote. Other dollar amounts reproduce the suppliers’ published prices.

NIOR’s portfolio spans wedding photography, film and family portraits. Its range of short sessions makes it a useful starting point for families who want holiday photographs without setting aside a whole day. Larger wedding packages offer longer coverage and more delivered images.

Published prices: the Papaya family package is $350 for 20 minutes and approximately 30 images. The Koua wedding package is $800 for one hour and 40 images. These are separate services.

Reviews: Google: 5.0/5 from 15 reviews. Visible comments mention relaxed family shoots, smooth booking and a good approach with young children.

Aitutaki: dedicated Aitutaki arrangements are offered, subject to travel and availability. Ask for an island-specific quote, particularly for sunset coverage that may require an overnight stay.

Malia offers clearly separated portrait, family and wedding packages, with options for different group sizes. The portfolio includes beach weddings and relaxed portraits around the lagoon. Couples looking for a mix of beach and underwater photographs can also enquire about its specialist sessions.

Published prices: Rua couples portraits cost NZ$495 for 40 minutes and 45 images, for two people. A family session is NZ$650 for 40 minutes and 40 images, for up to seven people. The Aróa wedding photography package is NZ$1,700 for two hours, 75 images and two locations. Videography is priced separately.

Aitutaki: available by arrangement. The FAQ says clients cover flights and transport for work outside Rarotonga, so include these in your budget.

Rarotonga-based Charlize brings a Cook Islands upbringing and creative background to her work. Her service pages cover immediate and extended families as well as weddings. This is a useful portfolio to explore if you want personal portraits or coverage of a proposal and the celebrations around it.

Published prices: an immediate-family session is $475, with at least 30 minutes, one location and 25 or more edited images. The Maiata wedding package is $1,400 for two hours and 80 or more images. Ask about extra family groups, locations and any island travel.

4. Maeva Media — an Aitutaki-based photography and film team

Maeva Media is a husband-and-wife photography and film business based on Aitutaki. Its work includes weddings, couples, families, events and business imagery. For visitors staying entirely on Aitutaki, a local team is worth contacting early when comparing availability and logistics.

Pricing: request a personalised quote. No numerical package price was verified on the official pages checked. Specify your resort, shoot location, number of people and whether you want photography, video or both. A resort’s wedding package should not be treated as Maeva’s photography rate.

Reviews: no Google rating was displayed when checked. Ask to see a complete recent gallery and references. The business also has an official Cook Islands Tourism listing; this confirms its listed services, rather than providing a customer score.

Fe’ena is a Rarotonga-born photographer offering portraits, couples and family sessions, elopements, weddings and commercial work. Her published packages make it easy to compare a small family shoot with longer wedding coverage. Browse full galleries to check the editing style suits the photographs you want to bring home.

Published prices: the Anau Mini family session is $395 for 30 minutes and 30 photographs, for up to five people; extra people cost $50 each. The Ngatangiia wedding photography package starts at $1,500 for two hours, 70 images and two locations.

Reviews: Google: 5.0/5 from 48 reviews. Visible comments praise professionalism, attention to detail and wedding photographs. Delivery times depend on the booked service; a quick turnaround mentioned in one review is not a promise for every package.

Island coverage: Rarotonga is the base. Enquire directly about Aitutaki dates and any additional travel costs.

More photographers to contact

These additional businesses broaden your options. Independent photography-service review scores were not verified for these entries, so no rating has been invented.

  • Island Love Photography: Rarotonga wedding, portrait and lifestyle photography. Its website advertises portrait/family sessions from $300, but the price is undated and a wedding heading refers to 2024; request a current quote. Contact +682 72241 or alishajclark@yahoo.com.au.
  • Tiporo Photography: wedding and portrait photography listed for both Rarotonga and Aitutaki by Cook Islands Tourism. Ask for current packages and island availability through the website or tourism listing’s contact options. Price: quote required.
  • Charlotte Piho Photography: wedding photography listed for Rarotonga and Aitutaki on the official tourism directory. Contact through the linked website or supplier listing for a photography quote. We have not used ratings for a similarly branded turtle-tour activity as a photography-service score.

Blondie’s Photography — an additional Aitutaki option to check

Blondie’s Photography is associated with Reg Potini and appears in Aitutaki wedding references. My Wedding Guide lists the business in Aitutaki for portraits and engagement photography, while Tiare Films’ wedding directory, last updated in 2018, lists Blondie’s as an Aitutaki photographer. A 2021 Te Ipukarea Society newsletter also credits Reg Potini of Blondies Photography with helping train local youth.

Customer feedback: older wedding accounts describe a relaxed, comfortable experience and appreciation for the resulting photographs. A resort review posted in January 2024 names Reg Potini as the wedding photographer. These are mentions within resort/travel reviews; a separate current Google rating for the photography business was not verified.

Prices and contact: current packages, a direct phone number and an email address could not be verified. Ask your Aitutaki resort or wedding planner to help confirm the current booking contact, availability and a written quote. The website linked by the older directory could not be accessed during our check. Confirm these details before making plans around this option.

Booking a photographer in Aitutaki

Start with your location and date. Maeva Media is based on Aitutaki; NIOR and Malia describe Aitutaki arrangements, while Tiporo and Charlotte Piho appear in tourism listings covering the island. Confirm availability rather than assuming a photographer can travel on your preferred day.

Ask whether the quote includes return flights, accommodation, airport transfers and boat transport to a motu. Sunset sessions may need an overnight stay for a visiting photographer. Resort access and boat schedules also affect where and when a session can happen.

For lagoon photographs, agree on a backup plan for rain or wind, and confirm who organises any boat trip. Give your photographer the resort name and your full travel dates so there is room to reschedule.

What to ask before booking

  • What is included? Confirm coverage time, locations, number of edited images, gallery delivery and whether video or drone coverage costs extra.
  • What is the total price? Ask for the currency, taxes, extra-person fees and inter-island travel in writing.
  • What happens if it rains? Agree on a backup date, cancellation terms and deposit conditions.
  • Can we see a full gallery? A complete session gives a better guide than a handful of highlights. Check recent reviews yourself using the links above.
  • How can we use the photographs? Clarify print rights, downloading, social sharing and whether the business may use your pictures in its marketing.

Planning the rest of your trip? Explore our Rarotonga guide, Aitutaki guide and local business directory.
